Metropolitan School Frankfurt
Metropolitan School Frankfurt is an international mid-sized, non-profit, all-day preschool, primary and secondary school. MSF offers full-day English-language education to children from Frankfurt's growing international community along with local German students. It is truly an international school, with nearly 500 students representing 47 different nationalities.
MSF is an IB World School certified to teach the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 3-6 in our Early Years section and for 6 to 11 year olds in our Primary School. Continuing on students aged between 11 and 14 enter the Cambridge International Education (CIE) Secondary 1 Programme which leads to the IGCSE in Grade 9 and 10. The IGCSE is taken in more than 160 countries worldwide providing a solid foundation for students who will participate in the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12.
MSF's curriculum also entails key elements of the German curriculum ("Rahmenplan Grundschule Hessen") that MSF covers as state-recognized substitute school by the Hessian Ministry of Education and Culture (Hessisches Kultusministerium) in order to provide a coherent framework for our international and German families.
Our German language programme follows the high standards of the German state curriculum and is taught by German mother tongue teachers in daily German lessons throughout the Primary and Secondary School. In differentiated classroom settings we offer German for beginners as well as for intermediates and mother tongue speakers.
The comprehensive MSF school curriculum and the relatively small classes of 19 students on average result in strong learning outcomes, evidenced by the externally marked International Student Assessment tests (ISA) – held in Primary and Secondary School.
As well as focusing on academic achievements, we take an active interest in the well-being and personal development of each child. Initiatives like the school garden, outdoor classroom, class reading buddies, community service projects and a wide range of extracurricular activities encourage our students to become well-balanced, open-minded and caring individuals with a sense of collective responsibility.
