Munich International School - A Leading International School

Munich International School (MIS) is a non-profit coeducational primary and secondary day school which serves students from Early Childhood (ages 4 and 5) through Grade 12, with English as the language of instruction. Founded in 1966, the School serves the international community in and around Munich, Germany, as well as those from the local community who wish to take advantage of the unique MIS educational experience. More than 1300 students who represent around fifty countries and nationalities attend MIS.

MIS caters for the physical, social, emotional and educational development of its children by providing a student-centred, inquiry-based learning environment which fosters an appreciation in its students of their cultural heritage and the cultural richness of the global community. Throughout all grade levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB) is the backbone of the MIS curriculum, leading to the international highly recognized IB Diploma.

The 26-acre MIS campus consists of a Junior School (Early Childhood - Grade 4), a Middle School (Grades 5 - 8) and a Senior School (Grades 9 - 12), and is located 20 kilometres (12 miles) south of Munich. All students benefit from large gymnasiums, auditoriums, libraries, contemporary science labs, and art and music rooms. The 450 -seat Performing Arts Centre is used for many wonderful performances, band concerts, assemblies, the European Speech and Debate Tournament and conferences. Additional facilities include outdoor tennis courts, sports fields and track, playgrounds, an adjacent farm and gardens, as well as a nature walk. Classroom learning is supported by field trips, which take advantage of the vast cultural and educational opportunities of Munich.
