Open University

The Open University (OU) is the United Kingdom's only university dedicated to distance learning. The university currently has 250,000 students, 20,000 of which are studying at postgraduate level.

Nearly all students are studying part-time using specially designed materials. The modules are presented using a mixture of media and there are over 470 of them to choose from. You can build a programme of study to gain a:

Qualifications awarded by the OU are recognised by academic institutions throughout the UK, the European Union and the rest of the world. The Open University has been in the Top 3 in the UK's National Student Survey each year since the survey was introduced in 2005. In 2010 student votes ranked us in joint second place for student satisfaction.

The vast majority of OU modules are available throughout Europe. Those which are taught on-line are available in many other parts of the world. More than 20,000 OU students live outside the UK.

All modules are taught in English. We provide top quality teaching materials, regular feedback on your progress and help when you need it. You will be allocated a tutor or study adviser who is a specialist in your subject and can offer regular guidance.
