Frankfurt International School Wiesbaden Campus
Who we are
The Wiesbaden Campus (FISW) is a subsidiary of Frankfurt International School (FIS) set in a beautiful pastoral setting just 30 minutes away from the Oberursel campus. It caters to children age 3 to Grade 8, offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum to over 200 students from almost 30 countries. After Grade 8 students automatically transfer to the main campus to pursue the internationally-recognized IB Diploma. The fine facilities include a purpose-built school building, a spacious sports hall, library, playground, an outdoor learning space and playing field.
Opportunities for Students
The FISW Campus has chosen to maintain its size because of the many benefits found in a smaller school. It can offer more individualized instruction during the school day to boost student achievement, unique activities such as swimming lessons and horseback riding and accelerated acquisition of the English language for none native speakers. The Campus has always set standards for innovative teaching without overlooking the important foundations in literacy and numeracy. Upcoming improvements to the facilities will enable an even greater focus on the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) subjects, thus ensuring students receive an education enabling them to meet the challenges of the future.
The Wiesbaden Campus can boast of having very capable and experienced administrators and faculty who take great pride in watching each individual student progress throughout the school year and in challenging them in new and creative ways. The excellent leadership at the school has been recognized by the U.S. State Department, who chose Andrea Rosinger, the current principal, as the 2017 Outstanding Principal of the Year among international schools across the globe.
At FISW there are strong community bonds. Students are known by name and enjoy close relationships with teachers, while parents develop close ties to one another and appreciate the family-centered focus. This is especially valuable for expatriate families for whom the school becomes a cornerstone of their overseas experience.
Families will find that the FIS Wiesbaden Campus offers the same challenging and comprehensive educational program as FIS in a very distinct and supportive environment.
