International School Neustadt
BASIC FACTS ABOUT THE SCHOOL
The International School Neustadt (ISN) is a coeducational, full-day international school for children aged 4-17 years. ISN was founded in 2005 by the Verband der Holz- und Kunststoffverarbeitenden Industrie Rheinland-Pfalz e.V together with the financial support of the "SBW Haus des Lernens" organisation (Switzerland). With around 80 students from over 16 nations, ISN offers a caring family atmosphere both for expatriates and local families. Expatriate families enjoy the social network at ISN which eases integration into a new location, while local German parents benefit from the innovative educational program and English language instruction.
ISN offers a full day program from 8am until 5pm. While the main language of instruction is English, German classes are also taught daily to all students from beginner to native-speaker level. Before- and after-school adult supervision is available each day to students from kindergarten up to grade 5. ISN also provides a wide range of after-school activities including music, drama, art and sports.
TWO CAMPUSES IN THE RHINE-NECKAR METROPOLITAN REGION
ISN is located in two adjacent campuses. Both were former winegrower villas, providing a unique atmosphere for the students. Campus one is designated solely for the Primary Years and Campus two houses our Secondary School.
Neustadt, with its 56,000 inhabitants, is a medium-sized town located along the German wine route. Neustadt is also part of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan (MRN) region, with a total population of 2,4 million people and three major cities, Mannheim and Ludwigshafen (which can be reached in under 30 minutes) and Heidelberg. The MRN has a strong business base and some of the leading companies such as BASF, SAP and John Deere are located in the region. Furthermore, the MRN boasts two of the world’s leading academic institutions: University of Heidelberg (medical research) and the University of Mannheim (business).
ISN IS A CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Our school is a Cambridge International School, registered to offer education programmes from Cambridge Assessment International Education, part of the University of Cambridge. We are proud to be part of the world’s largest international community of schools, preparing students for life with Cambridge qualifications that are valued by universities and employers around the world.
The Cambridge Pathway gives students a clear path for educational success. We shape its curriculum around how our students learn – with a wide range of subjects and flexible ways to offer them. Our programmes inspire students [or your child] to love learning, helping them discover new abilities and a wider world.
ISN offers the Cambridge Primary and IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) programs, and is an accredited examination center for Cambridge International Examinations, offering the full range of English examinations.
ISN is also recognized by the state of Rhineland- Palatinate as an accredited supplementary school ('anerkannte Ergaenzungsschule').
The school is owned and managed by the famous Swiss education provider, SBW Haus des Lernens, which has over 40 years of experience in the field of private education, currently managing more than 10 schools throughout Switzerland and Germany. Some of the innovative approaches developed by SBW and implemented at ISN include personalized student coaching, autonomous learning and the development of learning skills.
